Terms of use

These terms apply when you use the Rome Unfolded app and this website (together, the “service”), provided by Affinity Labs Ltd (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Your account

You need an account to save progress. Give us accurate details, keep your sign-in secure and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use the service with a parent or guardian’s permission. You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age in your country.

What the service is

Rome Unfolded is an educational app with illustrated stories, quizzes, streaks and progress about Roman history. We aim to be accurate and to separate evidence from tradition, but history is interpreted and revised over time. Content is provided for learning and general interest, not as professional or academic advice. Illustrations are artistic reconstructions.

The AI history guide

Where available, the AI guide generates answers using artificial intelligence. It can make mistakes, so check important facts against other sources. Do not share sensitive personal information in the chat, and do not use it to produce unlawful, hateful or harmful content.

Subscriptions

Some features need a paid subscription (“Rome Unfolded Plus”). The price and what is included are shown in the app before you subscribe. Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google through your store account and renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Any free trial converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel first. You can manage or cancel in your Apple ID or Google Play settings, and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. Prices may change; we will tell you in advance where the store requires it.

If you use the iPhone app, Apple’s standard end user licence agreement also applies between you and Apple.

Our content and your licence

The app, text, illustrations, audio, video, names and logos belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for your own non-commercial learning. You may not copy, scrape, resell, publicly display or build a competing product from our content, or reverse engineer or interfere with the service.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service: no attempts to break its security, overload it, access other people’s accounts, or use it to harass others or break the law. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken.

Ending your use

You can stop at any time and delete your account in the app under Profile → Settings → Delete Account, or by emailing contact@romeunfolded.com. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription; cancel that in your store settings. See our privacy policy for what happens to your data.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law as a consumer, or liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

We may update the service or these terms. If a change is material we will tell you in the app or by email. Using the service after a change means you accept it.
